will progesterone cause my testicle to shrink

by John
(UK)

I am a 54 yr old man, I was born with undescended testicals, one was removed.

Ive noticed problems with my libido and feeling exhausted, and depression. I think this is to do with low testosterone, will progesterone help?

will it cause my testicle to shrink more(I have noticed some shrinking)?

will progesterone cause my testicle to shrink

Hi John I've found no studies showing progesterone affects the testicles adversely. It does in fact play a big role in Libido, far bigger than testosterone in fact. We do have men using it to raise theirs, see here. Progesterone can help with depression and Anxiety, this page has a list of nutrients which you might consider taking. But as you live in the UK, I feel another problem you have is low vitamin D. Please have a test done, most people in the UK have low levels. One affect of it is depression, see here, here, here, here, here and here. You need to get your level up high. Vitamin D also raises testosterone levels, see here and here. For more info on vitamin D levels, test kits etc see the Vitamin D Council, GrassrootsHealth and Birmingham Hospital. Blood levels should be 70-100ng/ml (175-250nmol/L) and not the 30ng/ml (75nmol/L) most labs and doctors regard as adequate. The minimum daily dose should be 5000iu's per day, although recent research indicates it should be 10,000iu's per day, see here. Birmingham Hospital send out test kits for £25, please consider getting one. Continued below

Hi John If you should at any time decide to take TRT, please ensure you use progesterone too, see here. One side affect of TRT therapy are Man Boobs, progesterone reverses them. You might like to contact our distributor in the UK who can advise on progesterone and vitamin D. Please do this via her website here. Take care Wray
