USP / Natural

by Kathy
(Maryland)

I just recently recieved my order of Natpro. I had been using Emerita ProGest for years and decide to give yours a try. I noticed that on your indgredients list you list "Natural Progesterone" and Emerita list "USP Progesterone" Can you please explain why you do not list "USP" ? Thanks!

USP / Natural
by: Wray

Hi Kathy An error on our part! When the leaflet was altered due to a change to better ingredients, it was left off. If you look at the web site it does say it.... "Progesterone Ph. Eur. USP JP". It lists two other regulatory bodies, the European and the Japanese pharmacopoeia. The new leaflet does have it. If you have changed to ours, please read the following page on Oestrogen Dominance. The ProGest is less than half the strength, so if you use the same amount of cream as before you could encounter the effects of excess oestrogen, as you'll be getting double the amount of progesterone. So please use half the amount of cream to achieve the same amount of progesterone. If you find this amount sufficient then stick with it, always increasing when you go through any stress. Stress drops progesterone levels sharply often causing symptoms to return. Take care Wray

Good Question
by: Michelle

Good question. I too just started using Wray's cream and had the same question. It also feels grainy... I have read that if it is grainy feeling that it may be bad. Am I wrong?

usp/natural
by: jackie

Hi Kathy, I have just started using Natpro and ordered it under the impression that it is usp but when it arrived it doesn't state it anywhere on the tube or packaging which is making me wonder if I've been misguided. I live in the uk and ordered it in the uk. The company I ordered it from were happy to answer queries before I ordered it but now I have received it they haven't answered my email. I don't think I will place another order and would like to ask you how you got on using emerita progest, would you recommend it? I haven't noticed any change using Natpro yet! Good luck, I hope you get a reply soon.

Good Question
by: Wray

Hi Michelle We?re most puzzled by the grittiness, which I first heard about from a friend of mine who told me about a week ago. She had bought 3 tubes, and found only one gritty. She said it hasn?t affected the efficacy, just the consistency is not as it should be. We?ve since had two others saying the same. We?ve spoken to the lab who is equally puzzled, as they always keep samples of each batch and not one of them was gritty. After much brain storming the conclusion we came to was some of the progesterone must have precipitated out on the sides of the vat it?s made in. Which would explain why only some of the tubes are gritty and some not. I have a dilemma! We always replace any stock customers are not happy with, but our next batch is not due for 3 weeks, so I can?t send you any till then. By which time you will have long run out. As it doesn?t seem to be affecting the efficacy, unless you have found this, please would you continue using it, and as soon as we get new in I?ll send some to you. The cream is not bad and will not harm you. I would need you to send us an email via this form here please. Take care Wray

usp/natural

Hi Jackie I'm not sure who you are getting it through, but we always answer queries. It could be they have been busy and don't work over a weekend. There is not enough room on the tube to put the symbols relating to purity, but the progesterone in the cream has been certified by three of the main certification organisations. The full names are below, followed by their abbreviations:
European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.)
Japanese Pharmacopoeia (JP)
United States Pharmacopeia (USP)

We used to have it on the leaflet, but when the ingredients changed, an oversight in printing the new leaflet meant it was left off. It's now on the new leaflet. We do have it on the web site, please see here. Take care Wray

do i need to use more
by: Michelle

Hi Wray, thank you for the quick response to the grainy product that I received. I just started Natpro and I wasn't sure what to expect, however, I didn't think it was normal after researching the web. My question to you is because of the issue at hand, should I be using more of the grainy product until replacement product is sent to me? Also to use 100-200mg. per day, what is that in teaspoons with Natpro?

do i need to use more
by: Wray

Hi Michelle No it's not normal, but it can happen as I explained, and not only to our cream. But most dismaying when it occurs. And you won't have to use more than normal. 100mg progesterone is 3ml of cream, and 200mg is 6ml. 5ml is 1 teaspoon. Hope this helps. Please don't forget to send us your postal details via the link I gave you. Take care Wray

Grainy
by: Stacey

I ordered one tube of Natpro and it was grainy but used it anyway and wondered why I wasn't feeling as good on it as on did on the Emerita. I thought I just had some Oestrogen dominance thing going on so I ordered the 3 tubes for $70 and the 1 1/2 I have used have both been grainy and have done nothing for my PMS symptoms. I write a blog and had a reader email me about ordering your product and it being "grainy" and saying that means that the progesterone has dissipated rendering the product useless. That would totally explain why I don't feel the Natpro working. I then googled and came across this thread and felt the need to comment as well. I'm assuming the 3rd bottle of Natpro will be the same and feel like I have just wasted a bunch of money which makes me sad. I love this site, and have learned so much, but until your product gets fixed I'll be ordering elsewhere.

Grainy
by: Wray

Hi Stacey I'm dismayed this has occurred, as you know from our emails! But as I explained not all the tubes were grainy, the only explanation being some had precipitated out in the making. Although not very pleasant to use, I've found those who had been using Natpro in the past found the efficacy unchanged. Maybe you had oestrogen dominance symptoms when you used it, which is why it did nothing for your PMS? I've found this occurs when people change from a weaker cream to a stronger cream. The Natpro is double the strength of the Emerita. But I have high hopes the next batch will be fine, as this has not occurred before with the lab we now use. Take care Wray

Has the grainy issue been resolved?
by: Michelle

Hi, reading the comments in this read and wondering if the grainy issue has been resolved. I need a stronger cream and am considering Natpro.

Has the grainy issue been resolved?
by: Wray

Hi Michelle Yes it has been resolved. The formula has also changed since 2010 as we've found better natural ingredients. You might like to take a look at them here. Take care Wray
