Timing of Progesterone

I just started taking Happy PMS this month as I am peri-menopausal and I stopped a day before my scheduled period. But it did not come.

Now I read where it says I should just take it every day and I am not sure when I should start using it again. Should I start immediately or wait the 2 weeks? Also, I am having a lot of soreness on the outside of my breast? Could this be related to the progesterone? Thanks for any information you can give me.

Timing of Progesterone

Hi there I've been on the Happy PMS web site, but cannot find out how much progesterone is in the cream. The amounts suggested in teaspoons appear very low, so I'm assuming you're getting between 20-40mg/day. I've found this is far too low to have much effect, in fact it often exacerbates Oestrogen Dominance symptoms, one of which is sore breasts. Progesterone initially stimulates oestrogen, it's not until it becomes the dominant hormone, that the symptoms ease. Progesterone is helpful for mastalgia, see here, here, here, here, here and here. I recommend using 100-200mg/day progesterone, for more info see our page How to use progesterone cream. It's not necessary to take a break, it's up to the individual. So if you decide to start again, it can be immediately, and if you do increase the amount you're using, please read the page I've given on oestrogen dominance. This can occur when increasing the amount or when starting again. We do have more info about this on our page on Peri-menopause. Take care Wray
