Hi
I’m 58 yo in menopause. I take estrogen
Everyday & prometrium two weeks of the month.
I’m curious if I can take prometrium everyday as it helps me with me sleep/ insomnia.

Hi Corrine J

If you read this website carefully you will see that we do not believe that any woman needs to take extra estrogen.  There are well over 100 estrogen mimics in our Environment as it is, why take more?  This means that you will be in a permanent state of Estrogen Dominance. The aim of progesterone therapy is to make progesterone the dominant hormone at all times. You should also be using progesterone every day with no breaks at all.  Please read the Menopause and How to use Progesterone Cream pages.  

If the Prometrium is oral then you will not be getting enough progesterone as around 96% gets destroyed by the gut and liver, see here  and here. This will aggravate estrogen receptors even further.  Not what any woman wants.  If oral, mix with a good organic aqueous cream and use topically, or insert in the vagina.

Please make sure that your Vitamin D3 is optimal at all times. A deficiency reduces the benefits of progesterone.
