Progesterone and sore nipple

by Gretchen
(PA )

I’ve been here a couple of times asking about questions for progesterone therapy. I am on 75mg of oral progesterone, and have been on it for about a month now.

Two months ago, my husband got a little rough with my nipples and was constantly tugging at it (one more than the other). I have since had super sensitivity, and also chafing. It has now turned into almost like a dull ache (but normally the dull ache starts at the beginning of my cycle or at day 7). I reached out to my OBGYN and also hormone doctor about this, and they didn’t have concern. They said it was mostly hormonal, and if I wanted to, I could stop my progesterone for a week and see if it goes away (which I haven’t done yet). Of course when you Google the symptom, it tells you every horrible thing it could be.

I just wanted to reach out to see if anyone on progesterone therapy has had issues with sensitivity and dull ache with nipples. I haven’t had this symptom up until recently.

Thanks!

Progesterone and sore nipples

Hi Gretchen

As mentioned many times on this website, oral progesterone is not the best Delivery Method as around 96% gets destroyed by the gut and liver. Please consider switching to a good organic cream such as Natpro.

Female's nipples are delicate so I am not surprised that you are feeling some discomfort. If the doctors have ruled out anything sinister it could be your thyroid. Did that test your thyroid? Please view this lengthy video by Dr David Brownstein, it's worth the watch. His books are excellent too. You could be lacking in iodine, selenium and tyrosine.

If you had Natpro progesterone cream you could rub it on your nipples and breasts. It is an excellent anti-inflammatory and will help with the discomfort. In fact, it is excellent on any painful area on the body.

Google is not the best place to research, they post a lot of misinformation.  Do be careful where you get your information from.

As mentioned ad nauseum on this website, Vitamin D3, are you taking it?
