Contrary to your statement, in my opinion there are no studies showing 100 to 200 mgs, as the correct progesterone dosage.

That is about what a pregnant woman produces. Biological production would be about 20 mgs. for the days it is produced. Nicht wahr??

None that I know of

Hi Jesse You are correct, we do make about 20ng/ml per day. This is all well and good for someone with no problems, but far too low for someone who does. The people who write in don't have normal symptoms, far from it, most have very severe symptoms. So far higher amounts are needed. For instance Dr Dalton would give 2400mg/day to her patients with post natal psychosis, see here, women with recurrent miscarriages or having IVF treatment get 200-600mg/day, see here, TBI victims are given over 1200mg/day via IV transfusion, see here, and here. Incidentally over 70% are men. These people needed high amounts. I've found from experience that women, men too, who have severe symptoms, need high amounts too. We have men writing in who have prostate cancer, who have been put on 100mg/day by their doctors, not by me. Far higher than the 8-10mg/day normally suggested for men, see here. There's little point in giving someone with bad symptoms 20mg/day, it merely exacerbates the Oestrogen Dominance symptoms. Take care Wray

THANKS FOR PRINTING MY SKEPTICISM (MANY YEARS IN THE ACQUIRING.I T'S PERMANENT) AND YOUR RESPONSE, AND ARGUMENTATION ARE NOT UNFAMILIAR TO ME. DOCTORS DO PRETTY MUCH WHAT BIG PHAMA SAYS TO AND HOW MUCH AND HOW HIGH TO JUMP. A THOUGHT NOT MINE ALONE. THAT A DOCTOR PRESCRIBES A DRUG OR HORMONE AND AT A CERTAIN DOSAGE MAY BE WELL INTENTIONED, BUT IS STILL A "CRAP SHOOT," NOT AN AFFIRMATION. THE 'WOMENS HEALTH INITIATIVE STUDY WAS A GOOD AWAKENING FOR LAY PEOPLE ON HRT BUT ONLY INSTILLED MORE" STEALTH" WITH BIG PHARMA AND CREW. ASK WYETH WHAT THEIR LAWSUIT COUNT IS UP TO. NOW.NUFF SAID. I'LL GO PEACEFULLY.

Hi Jesse I appreciate your comments. It is essential to keep an open mind and not allow ourselves to be hoodwinked by big pharma. Or poisoned, burnt and cut as is now the case. Essential too to be more informed, this is what I hope I'm doing. You mention the WHI which ended in 2002, but back in 1976 papers were being published on the increase in cancer, see here. And of course HRT was the reason. It was big business then, before the alarm bells rang, but how many women had been harmed. Nuff said, and peace to you. Take care Wray

Annoying Queries
by: CamperKat

It really annoys me when:

(1) PEOPLE WRITE IN CAPITAL LETTERS because it looks like SHOUTING.

(2) People don't take care with their typing or who don't bother to spell-check their posts, which means that sometimes a query is so riddled with typos and misspellings that they are rendered virtually undecipherable.

(3) The endless queries/statements from people, despite being "desperate for any information" post questions that show they have not taken the time to look through this website, because invariably, most of their questions are answered somewhere herein.

(4) Although yes, she sells Natpro, Wray is under no obligation to respond to medical queries, or even offer this Q&A information forum. No other manufacturer does this. Wray does it solely because of the goodness of her spirit, and she repeatedly takes the time to answer the afore-mentioned endlessly repeated questions--which makes her taking the time to respond to the above smart-alecky "nuff said" statement yet again further proof of her good spirit--that statement was really rude to my ear.

Finally...this is a sharing forum for people who are at the end of their rope and have gotten lousy care/advice from standard MDs and healthcare providers. Can we please avoid challenging Wray and fellow posters?

Thank you for reading.

[note from webmaster: Thanks for points 1 & 2 Campercat. It's a fine line we tread between publishing unedited goobeldygook (not much of that thankfully) and heavily edited semi-rewrites that would amount to censorship and require a small army of editors besides. If people would follow your faultless recommendations then our lives would be made easier and the quality and usefulness of the site would be much enhanced. Your other points are equally valid and even more important but, not being my beat, I shall comment no further besides saying 'thank you, you are an asset to these forums']

Are evening primrose and vitex safe supplements?

Hi CamperKat Bless you for your comments! The webmaster has occasionally asked people not to use capitals, as it does amount to shouting. And a huge amount of editing does need to be done, as some of the English is barely decipherable, but the questions asked do have some validity. All this takes up unnecessary time, and of course having to answer questions which are at times very accusing. Unless the topic has nothing to do with health or progesterone (we do get some of those!), we publish all posts to give an unbiased view. All the info is of course on the web, particularly PubMed, for anyone to look up, but having spent years doing it, I know immediately where to find it. As you've pointed out before, I am happy to answer questions from people using other brands. I could quite legitimately refuse to reply unless they used Natpro, but see no reason for this. Everyone is in need of help, and I'm happy to supply it. Bless you once again for your support. Take care Wray

Hi there Yes they are, with some reservations. Evening primrose contains principally O6, with at least 9% γ-linolenic acid (GLA) in the form of triglycerides. As it's O3 we are generally short of, to my mind O3 fish oil is a better oil to take. Not cod liver oil which does contain a small amount of O3, but it contains a high level of vitamin A which inhibits the action of vitamin D. This is a vital nutrient which is low in most of us. Vitamin A should not be taken because of this, far better to take the precursor beta-carotene. Agnus castus has been used for centuries for women's disorders, and is still used, see here. It does reduce prolactin levels, which if high, can cause apparent infertility, see here. But it can cause mild ovarian hyperstimulation too, see here. Take care Wray
