Hello Wray,
I am trying to find out exactly what my dosage means - can you convert this and let me know if I'm taking too little or too much? I really follow this website and can't really tell if I taking enough. This is on my prescription label.

PROG 30MG/test 0.5 MG/DHEA 2MG 30/0.5/2 CREAM

Thanks

Hi Mary The 30gm means the container has 30gm cream, ie 1 oz. I'm assuming it's a cream as you don't mention this. Again I'm assuming as you don't say, but it seems the cream contains 30mg progesterone, 0.5mg of testosterone and 2mg DHEA in 1ml. It's normally measured in mg/ml of cream. I don't believe the progesterone is anywhere enough, I recommend 100-200mg/day. 30mg/day won't even raise your level to that found in the luteal phase, see our page on Progesterone Misconceptions. DHEA increases the risk of ovarian cyst and cancer, because it increases testosterone, see here, here, here and here. I don't believe testosterone should ever be given to a woman, it increases the risk of cancer and heart disease, see here, here, here, here here, here, here, here and here. It increases visceral fat too, see here and here. Continued below.
