Estrogen to progesterone ratio help ?

I just figured my estrogen to progesterone ratio and it is 140 to 1. I am confused as to what this means . Which hormone do I need more of? I currently am on miniville patch .5 and 200 mg compound progesterone . I am still suffering all the symptoms of peri menopause that I had when I first started HRT So I already knew things were not right . I also have had my tsh go from 1.5 up to 2.8 then down to .7 all while on HRT , I wasn't sure if this has anything to do with my hormonal imbalance or if I caused this by taking HRT. Please anyone with advice for me ?? I am 35 and feel like I am 60 . I can relate to so many of your stories and I am glad I found this site!!

Estrogen to Progesterone Ratio help?
by: Joy

Well I am not surprised that you feel 60, you are battling with Estrogen Dominance. If your ratio is 140:1 you need a lot more progesterone, it should be around 600:1, the Hormone Testing page will explain in more detail. Often compounded progesterone creams come mixed with parabens, chemicals, estrogen and testosterone. Not what any women needs! You will continue to battle with Peri-Menopause symptoms, in fact they will become worse because of the added estrogen that you are using. All drug based HRT has a potential to cause harm. What is your Vitamin D3 level? A deficiency reduces the benefits of progesterone.
