Hi Angela I can't really answer either of your questions unless I had further info. The amount of progesterone to use depends on symptoms, and whether there's a cycle to follow or not. I normally recommend 100-200mg/day but more if symptoms are severe. We have women using 1 tube per month, and we have women using 15 tubes a month, or 1000mg/day. With one woman using 30 tubes a month, or 2000mg/day, see here, here and here, scroll to 'Having a Hard Time' or 'Information on Hidden Copper Toxicity'. The same goes for vitamin D. If your level was 10ng/ml I'd suggest you took 20,000 to 40,000iu per day to get it up quickly, see here. But if it's between 70 to 100ng/ml then 5000iu is perfect. You might like to look through these pages we have for more info, How to use progesterone cream,Peri-menopause and Menopause. For more info on vitamin D levels, test kits etc see the Vitamin D Council,GrassrootsHealth and Birmingham Hospital. Blood levels should be 70-100ng/ml (175-250nmol/L) and not the 30ng/ml (75nmol/L) most labs and doctors regard as adequate. The minimum daily dose should be 5000iu's per day. Take care Wray
