Dosage during perimenopause - daily or only in luteal phase?!

by Sissy
(Newport, South Wales)

Hope someone can help… have purchased Natpro and am now wondering how best to dose it. In perimenopause and starting to really struggle with symptoms now. My cycle, over the last 2-3 years, has gone from a regular 28 days to a range of 18 - 31 days, so calculating my luteal phase feels difficult. Had blood tests last year and was told my hormones were in ‘the menopausal range’ and was offered HRT. I haven’t taken any, have been trying to manage symptoms with diet and lifestyle instead. I’ve decided to start on 150mg dose but am confused as to whether I should attempt to calculate ovulation and use only in the luteal phase of my cycle or should I just take daily?

Really hope someone can help, I really believe this can help me but feel confused and a little hesitant. Thanks 🙏🏼

Dosage during perimenopause - daily or only in luteal phase?!

Hi Sissy

You have come to the right place for information. Peri-Menopause can be a torrid time for most women and what you are experiencing are classic symptoms. One really can't use progesterone once this happens as it is impossible to use during your luteal phase. Progesterone should be used by following a regular cycle. It is best to use Natpro Progesterone Cream every day with no breaks going forward.

You haven't shared your test results, but it would be interesting to work out your ratio between progesterone and estrogen, see here. HRT is always offered by doctors. They completely ignore the natural way and the benefits of progesterone.

See if the 150mg helps you, if not try 200mg. It usually takes 2-6 months before one notices a difference. Time and patience is needed.  Please read the How to use Progesterone Cream page. Progesterone therapy has helped so many women for many years if used correctly. The Estrogen Dominance page should also be read.

What is your Vitamin D3 level?  A deficiency reduced the benefits of progesterone.  It is connected to every single functioning cells in our bodies making it vital. Cofactors are needed.

Thanks so much for your reply. I wasn’t given a copy of my results but I may get more done soon as the go did say they’d test me once a year

From what I remember my thyroid function was normal and there were no concerns about my vitamin d levels

I will be sure to request a copy of my results next time

More symptoms after starting progesterone
by: Anonymous

Hello,

I’m 38 and had irregular heavy periods, so started progesterone after having period at the beginning of this month. Now I started bleeding after about 14 days of 20mg progesterone cream twice a day. My cramps and bloating have been awful but bleeding is pretty light…now on day 5 of it…would you increase progesterone dose, stop it until bleeding stops, or remain the same? Feeling defeated as the pms symptoms have been really awful during this time. Any help would be so appreciated! Thank you!

I am not surprised that you are feeling awful. Progesterone has not been used correctly. As mentioned ad nauseam on this website between 100-200mg progesterone is needed using a good quality natural progesterone such as Natpro. 20mg will merely aggravate your estrogen receptors making your Estrogen Dominance symptoms far worse.

You are in Peri-Menopause, please read my reply to Sissy below and all the links.
