binging

Does progesterone help with binging? since starting it it felt like my urge to binge mellowed out, but now that I'm having pms I feel like binging again. I'm hoping once progesterone is regulated maybe the urge to overeat will subside as well? do you have any experience with this?

Hi Mazel

You don't say how long or how much Natpro Progesterone Cream you are using. It's possible that your body is still adjusting to progesterone therapy which can take 2 - 6 months, sometimes longer. Please read How to use Progesterone Cream. Estrogen also stimulates the appetite, one of the reasons women get cravings the few days prior to bleeding. Progesterone is dropping then, so is estrogen, but if the ratio of the two hormones becomes unbalanced, many adverse symptoms occur.

Insulin resistance could also be an issue. Have you been tested for it? See here. Progesterone does stabilize blood sugar as it's involved with appetite control. Fluctuating progesterone levels, together with the rise and fall of estrogen, result in changes of mood, sleep patterns, cravings/appetite, PMS etc.

Many women report back stating that progesterone has actually helped with their binge/cravings, others not.
