Well into menopause

by Susan mcd
(Essex, UK)

I have been using Natpro for six weeks and have been told after blood test results that I am well into menopause (count over100).

Since using the cream I have had two bleeds (like a normal period) within the last month. Is this as it should be?

Well into menopause

Hi Susan I'm not sure what stage you're in. Are you still having periods on and off, or have you not had one for 12 months? It's normal to wait for 12 months with no period at all to say a woman is definitely in menopause. If you haven't had a period for a few months, but not the full 12 yet, then it is normal to have one or two periods when first using progesterone. It can occur even after the 12 months is up, not if it's been two or more years. Although oestrogen is declining in the early stages of menopause, there is still sufficient to build the lining of the uterus slowly. With no progesterone dropping at the end of the cycle, there is nothing to make it shed. It will ultimately be absorbed into the system. But using progesterone in the early stages, will cause the lining to shed. Please see this web page for more info. Take care, Wray
