Curious-- could natural progesterone cream be used in place of the "morning after" pill?

From what I understand, the morning after pill gives you a massive dose of progestin. I am assuming it is then the lack of continued progesterone that causes your uterus to shed its lining. Could natural progesterone be used the same way? (I'm Assuming that it would indeed cause imbalance, but not pose the same danger that the synthetic progestin can cause)

HI there It could be used in the same way, but I wouldn't rely on it. It would also be necessary to use at least 500mg, if not more to ensure a positive result. You are right about how it works, there's more info on our page about Menstruation. It can be used as a Contraceptive, see this page here too. Take care Wray
